Oh my, the last weekly update almost EIGHT WEEKS ago! Darn! This means even if I club two weeks into one post I’ll have to do four posts! And that’s a lot of backlog to clear. So this time I’m going to club four weeks into one post for this one and the next one, and hopefully be on track after that.
Here’s what happened during the first four weeks of my third trimester! That’s right. Third Trimester is here π π
Be warned, it’s a long post with lots of pictures π

WEEK #27
June 20 – 26, 2016
The Feels & What I did
The week started with work. I made a new blog & social media schedule (and didn’t stick to it, obviously.), created a few graphics / templates that can be used later, made a new playlist for the week and did some budgeting with the hubs. With the traditional baby shower planning and baby’s arrival soon after, we have a lot of expenses to plan for. Putting them down in a spreadsheet and estimating our inflows and outflows gave us some perspective.
The rains finally began this week, like, in full swing. The house cooled down so much and that brought me relief. I was so tired of feeling all sweaty and icky all the time, and a nice, cool breeze was the answer to that. Hell, the whole city was relieved, I’m sure.Β

Also, since our niece’s naming ceremony was on the following Monday and I wasn’t going to be able to attend, I decided to send some love to the baby from her Aunt. We did our first round of baby shopping and oh, even then, around eight weeks ago, I couldn’t wait for my baby to get here. Looking at all those tiny, cute clothes, I wanted to buy them all!! Here’s what we bought for the baby.

And two more, just because π |
On Sunday, my sisters and I went to Olde Bailey’s – a cute little English Cafe at a walking distance from where I stay – to have brunch and finalise with the owners, the details of my Baby Shower on the 17th.

Health & Body
For the first time in my pregnancy so far, I had a craving. I saw a recipe for pulao on Instagram and I immediately wanted to try it out only because it looked and sounded so delicious. So even though lunch was ready, I made something extra just to satisfy my craving and then binge-ate it. And I loved it! Here’s the recipe:
Coriander Rice | Pulao Basmati Rice: 1 cup Green Peas: Β½ cup Cauliflower: Β½ cup Cinnamon: 1 inch piece Cloves: 2 Cardamom: 2-3 Bay Leaves: 2 Onion: Β½ of a big onion Ghee (or oil): 2 tbsp Salt to taste Coriander Leaves: 1 big bunch Green Chilli: 3-4 depending on how spicy you want it Ginger: 1 inch Garlic: 6 cloves In a blender add the coriander leaves, green chillies, ginger, garlic and ground to a smooth paste. You can add ΒΌ – Β½ cup water. In a skillet, add ghee. Add onions and fry till they become golden brown in color. Add the ground paste from blender and fry for about 3 minutes. Add the cinnamon, cloves, cardamom, and bay leaves and fry for about 2 minutes. In a pressure cooker, add the rice, green peas, cauliflower, ingredients in the skillet, salt & 2 cups water to cook. Pressure cook until the rice is cooked. The Bump
Here’s what my Bump looked like this week and a comparison from 4 weeks ago, i.e., at 23 Weeks.

WEEK #28
June 27 – July 3, 2016
The Feels & What I didΒ
This week started with me being grumpy. I don’t know if it was because I would have to wait an entire year to watch Game of Thrones again (the finale for season 6 had just aired) or if it was the pregnancy hormones or if I genuinely had a solid reason to be upset, but I was. I was annoyed that I was missing holding a tiny little baby in my arms whereas my husband got to. What annoyed me even further was that he was sending me recorded videos of the baby (with horrible lighting and angle) instead of calling me on FaceTime to I could see and interact with her. At least on a video call I could tell him to turn or tilt the camera. With the stupid recording, I could do nothing. Also, the fact that he stood far away and I couldn’t even see the baby’s face angered me even more. It would all have been so much simpler if I could’ve been there in person. And that thought pissed me off even more.
To cool off, I listened to some music and my baby loved it π π

Later that evening, I saw the naming ceremony on FaceTime and was slightly happier that I got to be a part of the event in whatever little way I could. My husband was back the following day and was so tired that all he wanted to do was sleep.
Friday, July 1st, was one of the best I’d had in a long time. My SIL called me on FaceTime because the baby was awake. π π I got to see and interact with the little girl. She could hear my voice and I could see that she responded when I said something. Obviously, she couldn’t see me what with being only two weeks old, but I could see her trying to figure out where the voice was coming from.
The rest of the week, i.e., the weekend, is a blur, because unlike the other days, I didn’t write down what I did. π¦

Health & Body
On Wednesday morning I had an ultrasound and a glucose test. Unfortunately, I didn’t get to see my baby very clearly because we got this done at a different clinic and they were just… weird. π When I showed the reports to my doctor on Thursday (I went with my sister) she said everything was fine.
The Bump
Even though I was super happy that it had finally started raining regularly, because the weather had cooled down so much, the one thing that I was disappointed about was the lack of sunlight. This whole week there would be light for like five minutes and by the time I got ready to click the picture, it would go dark and the picture that I did manage to click was so bad that no amount of light/contrast adjustment could fix it. So I had to accept that there would be no Bump picture at 28 Weeks π¦

The Feels & What I didΒ

And I watched Baby’s Day out on TV!! It’s one of those movies that I can watch over and over again and what with being pregnant, I couldn’t resist looking at this cutie smile and play and coo. β€

This week, we had a belated celebration for my maternal grandfather’s 80th birthday. So lunch and dinner was at my parents’ house on Tuesday and the celebration on Wednesday. And even though I spent the second half of Tuesday at my parents’, I managed to get some Quilling done AND I
recorded a video tutorial for the
Tutorial Tuesday segment on my
Craft Blog.
Wednesday, the day of the celebration, started with things going wrong right from 7 AM. I messed up the blouse I was supposed to be wearing and ended up wearing one of my mom’s old sarees instead of the brand new one that I’d bought specially for this day. Add to that the fact that I looked bloated and was sweaty, and you have an annoyed pregnant woman who was ready to punch the first person who said something stupid. Which is why I am super proud of the fact that when someone asked my sister (only 2 years younger than I am) if
I was her mother, I just gave that silly woman a blank stare.
My sister later told me that she thought I was actually going to hit that woman given that I have such low tolerance for nonsense and I was already pretty pissed off that morning, and she was prepared to have to restrain me. But somehow I held my own. Although I have no idea how someone could assume that the mother of a 27-year-old could also be currently pregnant, which was very evident by then, even with the saree I wore. Don’t believe me? Take a look…
When we (my sister and I) were in our mid-teens and were out with our mother, people would ask us if she was our older sister. Now that’s something I can get behind. And no, I’m not bragging when I say this because I admit that maybe I don’t look like I’m in my late twenties and I may look older, but how the hell do I look like the mother of a 27 year old? Just… how? I can’t even…
Anyway, moving on…
Our day begun at 5 AM on Wednesday, and so I took pleasure in sleeping in on Thursday. Later that day, on the pretext of doing something productive, I scheduled twitter posts for my Craft account and devoured this delicious strawberry cake.
//platform.instagram.com/en_US/embeds.js
And as much as I wanted to, I didn’t have the will to craft or cook. So I ended up making pulao again (see recipe above.)
The next day, I got some of my mojo back and did a lettering video. π

It rained all weekend, so we chilled at home. Saturday evening I was craving some pakoras, so my husband went out to get them while I made nice masala tea with ginger and cardamom. We also FaceTime-d with his brother and SIL and the baby π
On Sunday, we had lunch at Pop Tates just because I wanted to have a sizzler. And when we stepped out, the weather was so, so awesome π We also checked out some dresses for my Baby Shower but couldn’t find anything I liked so I decided to come back the following week with my sister.
The Bump
Because of the rains and the dull weather (that was otherwise so enjoyable,) I couldn’t take a regular Bump picture this week as well. But I didn’t want to let it pass without documenting it, so I asked my husband to take a silhouette photo. I’ve used the Baby Story App to add the text that says ’29 weeks now.’ π

WEEK #30
July 11 – 17, 2016
The Feels & What I didΒ
This week began with a FaceTime call with my niece again. π On Tuesday I went shopping with my sister to buy a dress for my Baby Shower on Sunday. The theme was pastels and the original plan was for me to wear white and the rest of the party to be dressed in colourful pastels. But as luck would have it, I couldn’t find a decent dress in white that would fit me properly. If my Bump fit into the dress, it was loose everywhere else and vice-versa. And I’d already figured that out when I was out on Sunday.Β So after discusng with my sisters we decided that I would also wear a pastel colour instead of white and thankfully I found something that fit me and looked decent. And it was at 50% off. So I bought it π
In between our shopping, my sister and I devoured these red velvet cupcakes and tried on the new Mexican Cheesy Fries at McDonalds. YUM-MY π
After we came back home that evening, we made a list of things that needed to be done before Sunday and who’d be responsible for taking care of what.

On Wednesday, I spoke to one of my friends for some ideas on what games they played at her baby shower and what party favours she gave the guests. Following that discussion, I went to the most logical place for party ideas – Pinterest. I also started working on a graphic for the e-vite to be sent to my friends.
The next day, my sister came over again and we started working on some photo props and party favours. I wanted most of the things to be handmade and I’ll show you all the pictures in the post dedicated to the Baby Shower (coming up later this week, hopefully :P)

On Friday I made the e-vite and sent it out to my friends. But there was some drama going on which I’d rather not discuss, so most of the day went by mulling over that. I wish I could ignore whatever was happening and focus on getting things ready, but I couldn’t.
We did the real work on Saturday. I knew we wouldn’t have time to click bump picture on Sunday and there was some sunshine on Saturday, so I took the picture before I lost the chance for the third week in a row.
Along with my sister, one of my cousins was here too and we were like elves in a workshop making things ready for the big event. We stayed up till almost 5 AM because that’s when we finished everything.
After getting some shut eye for about four hours, we were all ready to party. It was a fabulous day and I had a lot of fun. Of course, more on that in a separate post.
Health & Body
This week, the weird taste in my mouth was back again. On Monday, I had a terrible headache and I had to take a nap to feel better. This was one of the first few teasers of the effects of Third Trimester which, as I was approriately warned, isn’t fun at all. But this week is still better. As I write this post, I am 33 Weeks and 3 days and I know that what I felt at 30 weeks was waaaay better.
The Bump
Here’s what my Bump looked like this week and a comparison from 6 weeks ago, i.e., at 24 Weeks.
That’s all I have for now and boy, was that a LOT! I’ll be back with another post soon (hopefully :P)!
Love!
